Daves Dozen Bristol Docks 9/2/12

Thursday nights match was bitterly cold, the water was gin clear and it snowed quite a bit, but the usual names braved the worst conditions of the year and caught a few fish while most people were tucked up in front the fire watching the telly, real anglers.

The match was fished by the mud dock and police launch areas of the docks, with such poor conditions it was no surprise that all the fish fish fell to the feeder, liquidised bread as the feed and maggots or pinkies on the hook.

Top rod for the second week running was the legendary Pete Sivell who caught 4 skimmers for 6lbs 15ozs from peg 3. Second was Pete Ellis, who has caught more bream from the docks this year than anyone, who had 1 bream and 2 skimmers for 6lbs 3ozs from peg 1. Third was Alan healey with 5lbs 6ozs, 1 bream and 2 skimmers, Rob Garland was 4th with 4lbs 12ozs and dave carroll had 4lbs 4ozs made up of 2 good skimmers. Joint 6th was John Macey and Adam Caswell with 2lbs 11ozs.

Role on the summer.

Would you fish in such extreme conditions? or do you prefer the fire?
