Thursdays night match at Bathurst Basin had a real winter feel about it, a cold strong wind had the regulars reaching for the 'thermals'. The docks was a nice colour, and had it not been for the wind the weights would have been a lot better.
Top rod on the night was Aaron Britnell with 9lb 15oz which included a 2lb eel, the rest of the catch was made up of roach and skimmers all caught on a pole with maggots, second was Andy Curry with 7lb 12oz which included a 2lb perch amongst his roach and skimmers, third was Pete Ellis with 6lb 1oz which included a 1.5lb eel and roach up to 1lb.
The ever consistent Rob Garland was fourth with 5lb 9oz of roach and skimmers from peg 1, he keeps drawing this peg, wish he would do my lottery numbers. Dave Clutterbuck was fifth with 40 small roach, dace and perch for 4lb 10oz and Dave Shore was sixth with 3lb 15oz.
With just 2 matches to go there are 3 anglers leading the series on the same points, they are Rob Garland, Pete Ellis and Aaron Britnell, Dave Clutterbuck is one point behind them, so its all to fish for.
